Our Studio Policy
We believe it’s always best to communicate clearly. So here’s our Studio Policy on these items:
Tuition & Billing
Keys to Praise operates as a year-round studio. Lessons continue throughout the calendar year with scheduled studio breaks built into the rhythm of learning (e.g., winter break, spring break). Tuition is divided into consistent monthly payments so families enjoy predictable billing and steady progress, even when there are calendar breaks.
Tuition for piano and voice lessons is billed on a monthly basis, year-to-year, unless a 30-day notice is given. Level-payment tuition is calculated to evenly distribute the cost of the full studio year across consistent monthly payments. This ensures predictable tuition for families regardless of the number of lessons in a given month.
All-inclusive tuition includes weekly lessons, all recitals, enrichment workshops, and all learning materials and resources with no registration fee and no extra material or supply charges throughout the year.
All-inclusive tuition includes 42 private lessons, 3 studio-wide recitals, biannual performance workshops, books/materials, incentives, and awards.
Tuition remains the same each month. Holidays, studio breaks, or months with fewer lessons have all been considered.
Tuition will be invoiced on the 1st every month and will be paid through automatic, pre-authorized debit or credit card. An annual tuition increase will take effect on August 1st.
Tuition for Preschool Piano Prep is billed per 12-week session and may be paid all at once or divided into 3 equal monthly payments. All inclusive tuition includes weekly group classes and performance opportunities, showcasing to family and friends what the student has been learning.
ALL additional needs the student will have including method books, supplementary music, a music bag, access to in-studio technology/music theory games, student incentives, and awards are ALL INCLUDED in monthly tuition.
Continuous Enrollment
To provide consistency for families and progress for students, Keys to Praise Piano Studio operates under a Continuous Enrollment model.
Once a student is enrolled, their lesson time and placement are automatically reserved on an ongoing basis and will continue month‑to‑month and year‑to‑year unless a written Withdrawal Notice is submitted in accordance with the policy below.
Enrollment automatically renews each studio year without requiring annual re‑registration. Your student’s weekly lesson time is reserved exclusively for your family as long as enrollment remains active and tuition is current. Families do not need to “re‑register” each season; continued enrollment is assumed unless a Withdrawal Notice is submitted.
Billing continues automatically as part of Continuous Enrollment unless a valid Withdrawal notice is received 30-days before the next billing cycle.
At the end of each summer, families will receive a confirmation of continued enrollment along with any updated tuition rates, calendar details, or policy changes for the upcoming studio year.
Special Sessions
Special programs such as one-week summer camps may follow separate enrollment timelines and tuition structures. Participation in these programs does not alter Continuous Enrollment in the core lesson programs.
Missed Lessons
Your lesson time is reserved just for you. There will be no make-ups or refunds for lessons missed due to student forgetting to attend a lesson. The teacher will use that time to plan for the student’s progress. If a student is unable to attend a lesson in person, an online lesson may be offered instead.
With 24 hour notice, students enrolled in private lessons may be eligible for a make-up lesson. If there is another available slot that week (such as another student’s absence), that time will be offered, but due to limited space and scheduling constraints a make-up lesson is not guaranteed. If a make-up lesson has been arranged and a student cancels or no-shows, that lesson time is forfeited.
Should you need to miss a lesson, we encourage you to keep the music playing! Continued practice reinforces a student’s skills and prepares them for a complete return at the following lesson.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice are not eligible for a make-up lessons. There are no make-ups for group classes, but a student is invited to attend another group class in the same week. Missed lessons due to a teacher’s absence will always be rescheduled.
Please note: the studio offers other learning opportunities such as workshops, masterclasses, and recitals that are included in student’s tuition and also serve to supplement the occasional missed lesson.
Student Sickness
We want to make sure our studio (and your child!) stay healthy. In order to do so, please have your child stay home if they are not feeling well. This will allow them time to recover fully, and they will get an extra week to practice before returning to lessons.
Please do not bring your child to lessons if your child:
has a fever
stays home from school that day
has visible symptoms (runny nose, cough, etc.)
Pausing Lessons
While we understand that family schedules may shift during the year, lesson times cannot be held without active enrollment. Keys to Praise Studio does not offer lesson “pauses” or spot-holding during the studio year, including the summer, as enrollment is continuous and lesson times are reserved exclusively for each student.
If a family anticipates a need to step away from lessons, the following options are available:
Continue Enrollment During the Break
Families may remain enrolled and continue tuition payments in order to hold their lesson time. Teachers may offer enrichment, practice plans, or flexible scheduling at their discretion during extended travel or schedule changes.Opt-Out and Re-Enroll Later
Families may submit a 30-day written Withdrawal Notice in accordance with the Discontinuation Policy. Should you wish to return at a later date, re-enrollment is subject to current tuition rates, current studio policies, and teacher availability at the time of re-enrollment.
Discontinued Lessons & Withdrawal Notice
Students are encouraged to commit to lessons and work through the inevitable ups and downs inherent in learning music. Should discontinuation of lessons be necessary, the decision should be made with thoughtful communication between parent, student, and teacher so that lessons can end positively.
Because Keys to Praise operates on a Continuous Enrollment model, if lessons are discontinued, a 30‑day written Withdrawal notice is required to discontinue lessons.
Withdrawal notices must be submitted in writing via email to the studio. Notice must be received at least 30 days prior to the next billing cycle to avoid being charged for the upcoming month. Verbal notice to teachers does not constitute official withdrawal.
Once notice is received, enrollment will remain active through the end of the notice period. Tuition remains due during this time, and the student may continue attending lessons.
No refunds or prorated tuition are given for unused lessons or partial months.
Policy Agreement
Enrollment in Keys to Praise Piano Studio constitutes agreement to all studio policies, including Continuous Enrollment and billing terms outlined above.
